Richland County Sheriff

Just got my Home Patrol-2 scanner set up. I am scanning Palmetto 800. For some unknown reason I am not receiving any audio at all from Richland county sheriff dispatch or patrol. The transmission shows up on scanner but no audio. I am getting radio traffic audio every where else except Richland County Sheriff. Is it me or did the Department do something.

Pretty sure they are encrypted.

Thanks for the info. I did not know they were encrypted now. Been away from scanning for some time now.

Yeah a bunch of agencies went encrypted the last few months/year.

Richland County Sheriff - All
Bureau Of Protective Services - All
Department Of Natural Resources - Almost All COMM's Except Dispatch
Probation, Pardon And Parole - All
Department Of Mental Health - Only a few units encrypted seen on Dispatch
Charleston County - All Law Enforcement
Chester County - SO 3 and SO 4 now fully secure
Columbia Police Department - Encrypted some talkgroups

In the next few years I would expect all of state level law enforcement fully encrypted as well as most county and city level LE as well.
