Where is a listing for Richland Hills police? I know North Richland Hills police use the Ft. Worth system but what about Richland Hills?

Also does anyone know why Hurst is not on the North Tarrent County trunk system or another close system?

Thanks

Hurst probably doesnt want to dish out the money to be on a trunked system, maybe there analog is working great for them...that is my guess.

Same goes for Dallas, that is a big city yet they are still using analog.

Well I guess I am blind, thanks. I guess that is true about money, but I am suprised Hurst is not with Bedford and Euless.

I am suprised too, that is my guess...maybe someone else has a better answer. I think it would be pointless to throw down the money to get on a trunked sys. when they probably will be switching to digital within a couple of years if not sooner.

it costs $600 dollars a month per radio to be on the TCPSS. back in the day mostly all the fire depts in Tarrant and NE Tarrant used to be 800 conventional except Arlington fire which was UHF conventional.

What is wrong with a big city using analog conventional. I guarantee you that analog conventional works alot better than trunking or digital ever will.
Dallas will probably stay analog uhf.

I lived in Hurst until last summer and in the past few years I noticed they did some work on their repeaters and backup power, moved the outdoor warning siren radios from low band to UHF and put in some type of interoperability link so they can patch their repeaters to the NE Tarrant system (and I assume probably Fort Worth too). I think they spent a lot of money on their systems and I don't think its likely they will move to either trunked system any time soon. I never found out why they don't want to get on the FTW or NET systems like everybody else in that area did although the fire dept. has had trunked radios for years. They routinely operate on the NET system on mutual aid calls to other cities.

Back in what day? When I moved back to the area in 1993 (before the NE Tarrant trunked system) the fire departments were on:
Arlington = trunked
Hurst = 800 conv
Euless = 800 conv
Bedford = high band
Grapevine = low band
Colleyville = UHF
Southlake = FTW trunked
RH = FTW trunked
NRH = FTW trunked

I don't know when Arlington was on UHF. must have been in the early 80's. Arlington was one of the first to go trunked in the mid or late 80's.
Back in the 70s as far as I know all the Tarrant County fire depts except Fort Worth were on low band.

$600 per radio sounds kinda steep. maybe it is yearly? i can't see any agency in their right minds going for $600 a month when a new analog repeater costs between 15 and 20 thousand.
