Richmond Scanning

Greetings. I have noticed that lately I have been having a problem with hearing the Richmond system on both my 396 and 996 scanners. In scan, it will hit on what I think is the data channel but it will not not lock on the frequency and quickly jumps back to scanning. Hitting hold and scrolling through the frequencies will produce ho data signal. I have noticed this in the last 2 months when I have been up there. It was fine before then. I have checked and rechecked that I have the correct frequencies and type of system, which I do. I am having no problem with Henrico. Has anyone else had a similar problem or am I just lucky? If so, is there a fix? Thanks in advance for any info.

No dice. In the Butel software you have to enter a low and high base. I put in the frequencies as low and left high vacant. Nothing. In the scanner, to input manually you have "Base Low", "Base High" "Offset" and "Step". No "Lo Channel" or "High Channel" I did try to input the 843 - 848 MHz you listed but got an "out of range" code. Now I did enter a frequency range of 850.000 for low and 868.975 for high and did the offset and step as you described and got intermittant broken transmissions. I am a PA with a 4 years of graduate school and don't consider myself stupid but this has me stumped.

Disregard above post.......maybe I am not so smart after all. I forgot the cardinal rule...."When all else fails, read the manual". Problem now solved. Thank you anyway for the help....it did point me in the right direction.
