Has anyone noticed a new(er) talk group on Richmond's trunked system that seems to be some type of automated dispatch for RFD? The female voice is identical to the one used by NOAA weather radio and the dipatch for the RFD units always ends with "from main dispatch". I dont have my scanner with me but I believe the TGID is 34299. It's not listed in the RR database and I don't want to submit an update until I know exactly what it is. I would appreciate any assistance my fellow Central Virginia scanner junkies can offer. If I have the TGID wrong, let me know and I'll go through my scanner memory and find the right one. I also encountered TGID 1616 which is also not in the database. I don't know what that is, either.

I'll check into it and let you know, but it will be a few days before I can do it.

This is part of the new Phoenix G2 fire station alerting system they'll be migrating to in the near future. Its replacing the current MOSCAD station alerting they're using.

As posted, this is similar to the Locution system that Roanoke Fire is using.

Thanks for the info. I hope the new system replaces the FRAP talkgroups. They give me headaches.

I saw this and was wondering the if she sounds like the woman in the NYCFD stations? Before the NY woman, they used a fireman on watch yeah out who goes after he read it off the computer. I guess Chicago FD is similar since they also do not voice dispatch over the air.
