The proposed tower site will be near the junction of I-55, and I-220....

Now if Jackson switches to a Motorola for thier planned digital system, and Madison is upgrading thier Motorola..... And hoping that Warren County swiches from VSELP to another format.....

This sets up a nice scenario for those with digital capable scanners in the Metro Area...

If things worked out right- Hinds Co. Motorola ASTRO Smartzone, Rankin Co. Motorola Smartzone, City of Madison Motorola Smartnet, City of Ridgeland Morotorola (Most likely an ASTRO), Warren Co. Motorola ASTRO Smartzone, City of Vicksburg Motorola ASTRO Smartnet, and if Jackson goes ASTRO... :) I definitely need to save up and grab me an digital scanner for sure....

Its all supposed to be running by January 06 at the latest. RPD all digital, RFD possibly analog, along with RDPW.

That infamous demon of radio land- DELAYS has hit CoR's new system.. Weather delays have put them behind schedule.... Severe TS's and all that make playing with towers, and radio gear a risky business.

It looks like maybe late April, or May before any real testing of the system could happen. Word is that when they do go online, PD will be full digital with SWAT, and a few other TG's fully encrypted... FD will migrate on later... Unknown if FD will be digital yet.

And with JPD's move to go PV blocked.... Maybe someone with brains after mayoral elections will get Jackson on the Hinds County System...

PD can still go digital... And then would be able to communicate with everyone else...
