Hi,

Ive seen some information floating around on here about some RES frequencies.

Have they converted over to UHF for operations? Do they still use the VHF frequencies at all?

I know they have that nicely set up Fieldcom unit....does any one know what the setup is on the radios in there? IE Frequency layouts and channel plans.

Also, I saw a post here that B&C allows various OEM's use a community repeater they have. Does anyone know the PL? What towns use it?

Thanks so much for your help.

Ridgewood ESU has a UHF repeater that they use on 472.3750 PL156.7 They also did use Spen 4 for Ops as 153.7850 D365. I have seen the Field Comm Unit up close got a tour of it last year. As Far as radio plans thats all hidden pretty well out of view. They have Various Kenwood TK760s and 860s and a Kenwood TK6110 for lowband. As for the PL for that shared OEM use CTCSS/DCS Search if your scanner has it.

Ridgewood ESU also uses 158.895 simplex, CTCSS 123.0. This frequency comes alive during major fires and flooding. For the 4th of July parade and fireworks, they can also be heard on 154.57, CTCSS 123.0.

Expect changes this coming year with respect to ESU operations. Their long-term leader just resigned; a new director has yet to be named.

For the B&C Communications community repeater....Ive already tried a pl search....problem is that multiple users are on that frequency with different PL's. Havent heard any emergency radio traffic...just iternant business.

If anyone has a clue, it would be appreciated.

Gentlemen,

I keep seeing this claim floating around. SPEN/JEMS 4 is the combination of 153.785 and PL tone 131.8. While Ridgewood may use the same frequency that is used for SPEN/JEMS 4, by using DPL 365 - one can no longer call it "SPEN 4." The New York State Police use 154.680, with a PL of 110.9 - that doesn't mean they are using SPEN 1.

Ridgewood seems to be the only town actually licensed on 472.3750, that doesn't mean the other towns don't have it in their radios! Community repeaters usually are business repeaters where each business has a separate PL tone. Could you list some of the PL's you're ge tting? Maybe I can figure out who's using it

Fair Lawn is equipped for 472.375; they supported Ridgewood at the 2005 4th of July event, and also used 472.375 during a recent drill in Fair Lawn.

Portable coverage outside of Ridgewood, even in certain spots of Ridgewood, is spotty on the repeater though. Mobile coverage is fine everywhere nearby.
