Rio Rancho PD 500 Units

Anyone have any idea who/what the 500 units are? I hear them responding on calls and running traffic stops like regular patrol officers. They don't appear to be supervisors, I still hear the sergeants and lieutenants making the decisions...

I think I heard them also referred to as George 500 (for example), but I also still hear the usual George (gang) units as well as these 500 units.

EDIT: Also, anyone know the SWAT call signs (if there are any)?

I am not totally sure but my guess is they ran out of 100. After an officer quits there is a time where the number is reserved. I think it is about 5 years. Hope this helps.

Makes sense, but why skip 200-400's

200 is dispatchers, 300 is Animal Control, and 400 is the reserves.

400 is the reserves.

I didn't know the police department had reserves. I heard the fire department reserves were disbanded last December.

I also know the fire department uses 800's, anyone use 600 or 700's?

When they where DPS all codes where created in the same plan. The reserves where included in the plan. the 600 and 700 are not used to the best of my knowledge. Yes 800 is fire.
