• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I thought I had this frequency but I don't. Does anybody have the frequency for Ripley, WV PD?

Thanks in advance.

The only license I could locate for Ripley is KDV614 on 39.80 and 39.98 MHz. Unknown if the PD uses it or not.

This is for mutual aid and I didn't hear anything on it all weekend. I don't think this is for Ripley PD.

your profile says you're in Columbus. is this close to Jackson Co, WV? according to Google Maps, Ripley WV is 125 miles from Columbus, OH. it looks like Jackson Sheriff on 153.92 is simplex. if they use that for the dispatch, then you may not hear it. even if they use the other as dispatch, you still may not hear it. what kind of antenna are you using? what's the terrian of the area between where you are and Ripley? have you tried driving closer and seeing if you can hear them? you may be out of luck.
