Ripped off by whynotmejc

I agreed to purchase a Pro-106 from whynotmejc on 04/30/09. I immediately priority mailed him a money order for $325 (300 for the scanner and 25 for overnight UPS shipping). He said he received the money order on 05/06/09 and that he would mail out the scanner the next day. It's been five days since then and no scanner. I have e-mailed him repeatedly asking for a tracking number which he has not provided. He also would not confirm how he sent the item (UPS, USPS, etc). Do I have any recourse here?

Thanks for the advice. While it's true that 5 days is not a long time, the fact that I was promised overnight shipping (from Iowa to Virginia) and then communication was cut off entirely raised the red flag for me. I do plan to pursue this with the USPS as soon as they will allow me to do so.

"It came back with a non existing address. I wrote it dow wrong. Will remail it first thing in the morning and will call u from fed ex with tracking number"

If I receive the item this time, I will ask the moderators to remove my negative feedback from the forum.

No communication and no scanner

Well, no response to repeated e-mails since the single text (see above) and no scanner on my doorstep. A really great experience for my first digital scanner purchase. Thanks, whynotmejc. Avoid dealing with this guy at all costs.

OK, we may have a resolution.

"I tell you what I am sending your money back to you and once you have the scanner I want it sent back to me. When you agree to this send me a reply stating so. I don't need your money and I don't steal from nobody."

This sounds great to me. I'll post again if it happens.

Definitely robbed of $325

"whynotmejc" has closed his e-mail account and the phone number he gave me has been disconnected. He is a crook and should not be trusted. Do not trade or buy from him.
