Over the past several days I’ve listened to some new activity on RISCON South Wide Area Ch 2 (TG 1019) that I haven't heard before.
There seems to be a generic “Dispatch” sending numbered cars around, but they never give any addresses other than some numbered locations (T8, T16, etc) and the incidents they’re responding to seem like they’d make the news… (one yesterday was an ‘officer down’). And I should add that dispatch to on-scene times are exceedingly quick.
As I was writing this just now, I listened in on a radio call that said the “officer down exercise” can stand down because the “other units had other mandatory tests to complete”.
So, it certainly sounds like training, but I can’t quite tell what agency(ies) are involved. It all piqued my interest, so I wonder if anyone has any insight on who is involved, be it the RISP Academy, or a civilian officer training experience, etc.
Thanks,
-Greg
