WOW !! 3 words I haven't heard in years

The River
The Deck
and CVAS

The River and The Deck were the frequencies used by Air 1 and Air 2 for surveillance and patrol.

Now that everything is digital in the Metro, most everything is on that or on cell phone.

I could listen to Rocky for hours calling a pursuit or following a PERP.

CVAS is something your rarely hear around here either.

I worked for RPS for many years

"The River"was 154.875 ex-Chesterfield. "The Swamp" was 156.210 Henrico. "The deck" was 156.450 (Marine ch.9). 155.730 was another one that the Richmond/Henrico/Chesterfield police used in the 90's before they went digital. One officer on a usual frequency would tell another officer to go to River. Most new people would not know where to go when they said that. I forgot why they called them these nick names. I talked to a scanner friend in Richmond who provided this information. So these frequencies are obsolete in the Richmond area now. They were active, and interesting in the mid-90's. Does anyone else remember them?
