I'm new to this forum and was wanting to stop in and say Hello to some fellow Arkies!
I'm using a Pro95 and a "coat-hanger" 2m ground plane - it receives alot better than the rubbber duckie MOST of the time. I seem to be getting a pretty good range, especially considering the varying terrain. The area is called the Arkansas River Valley, and i can only receive less than a quarter of a mile to the south, but I can hear Northern faulkner county, conway area, bigelow, perryville, extreme western yell county, all of conway county, and most of Pope county. Not bad for a few coat hangers, and a $40 pawn-shop scanner.
