I have noticed a lot of random key ups on the RMFD F2 154.370 Frequency. I don't hear any voice or data just dead air. They don't last long and they seem random. I have CTCSS turned on, and the signal strength is the same as the repeater output. So I don't think it is a mobile unit transmitting in TA. Has anyone else noticed this happening?

Some whacker likely programmed their freqs into their Baofeng(No offense, it's the choice of whackers), and is pretending to be important.

Could also be noisy phone lines on a receiver site. We had such an issue often with our system.

You aren't the only person annoyed by the constant key-ups. When in Maricopa County, I have to remember to avoid that frequency.

Could very well be this. I chased an issue just like it on a secondary channel for an agency. Turned out to be an issue with an old copper line at the local Telco C.O. Telco swapped that circuit to fiber, adjusted audio levels and problem went away. Unless RMFD raises the red flag on this issue it will likely continue until it bothers someone higher up the food chain.

this has been happing for several months mostly at night time. I think someone is keying up on purpose, but it always happens at night
