Folks, I will be heading west today with Pro 106 and Dell laptop to complete and\or update frequency info for O'Neill and Niobrara Sites. If time permits, I will also head for Naper to get information on that tower as well.

Perhaps N-WIN will fire up Elgin?

Stay tuned for updates!

Hey, Rich!

SUPERB! We'll all be awaiting your report with great interest! That's a GREAT way to try-out your mobile "signal spelunking" setup!

Right now, I'm getting ready to install a new HD in my Dell Netbook, so my Pro96Com mobile observatory is 10-7 until Ghost finishes imaging the new HD!

And, Falls City is still giving me the "silent" treatment, but at least the CC still kicking out data! No voice observed just yet, though the intermittent PvtData is regular as can be.

Later! 73

Trip delayed

Seems the railroad had some last minute plans for me. Made another attempt today, however, I will head west when I can get some free time. Please stay tuned.

Mission Complete

I guess work didn't need me after all!

Anyhow, I did head west this evening. I started in Neilgh and worked north towards Niobrara. I did find the footprints on the towers monitored are rather large. Norfolk was making the trip into O'Neill, 35 air miles west with good decode rate, 80-99%. Niobrara was useable in Neligh, however decode rates were between 50-70%.

....And to settle the truth about Naper, here is the info:

Naper was also very hard to get a decent decode rate, wound up past Verdigre to get a useable decode rate without having to drive further west.

Good job!

Hey, Rich!

I second AVS's vote - VERY useful roadtrip and some good info there!

Plus, this time of year presents some really neat-looking scenery to accompany one's trip in North Central Nebraska!

Good job, indeed!

Now, here's the tease: I believe there's one remaining site in South Central Nebraska which hasn't yet been identified... that site may get identified on Friday, if things all line-up correctly!

Now we just need somebody to venture into SW Part of the state to gather Control and Alt control frequencies!

what information do you need from what towers,
i go over to sidney and up to south dakota some times,
could make a detour for information :),

Info:

Here are the towers that need confirmation of the alternate control and control channels:

West Central, far Northern Nebraska:

136-Ogallala, Keith County
137-Oshkosh, Garden County
139-Whiteclay, Sheridan County
151-Merriman, Cherry County
152-Norden, Keya Paha County--I may be able to get to this one, a bit of a stretch from Norfolk, though.
154-Whitman, Grant County

Southwest Nebraska:

148-Hays Center, Hays County
149-Imperial, Chase County
150-McCook, Red Willow County

There are 2 more, in Franklin and Nuckolls county, I believe George is going to try to make it out that way to confirm those.

Let us know what you can do to "fill in the blanks" Thank you in advance!

Hey, Rich and all!

Yes, indeed - I'll be headed that way on Friday, November 11th, so will get the Franklin and Nuckolls county sites.

Refresh my memory: Are you chasing 175, 176, and 177 up your way, or are you working on 163 and 165 up there?

Seems to me that there's a completely unidentified site somewhere in south central Nebraska, separate from the Nuckolls and Franklin sites, but I could be wrong - I don't have the original site list spreadsheet in front of me.

During New years I can probably get these three updated.

148-Hays Center, Hays County
149-Imperial, Chase County
150-McCook, Red Willow County

Will try to plan for this.
