Hello Ohio!

I will be traveling from Chicago to D.C. along I-80 and 1-76. Are they patrolled by the state or respective county? Also, any suggested listenings?

Freeways would be patrolled by Ohio State Highway Patrol (See MARCS). Each county has it's own, or several MARCS sites. OSHP has talk groups by post #.

In addition the freeway could be patrolled by local police (city, village, township etc) in addition to county sheriffs. They might be on MARCS or they might be on completely different systems. Just depends by county and city.

Sounds like you will be on the Turnpike the entire way.

If that's the case, simply program the Ohio MARCS sites along the route and the talkgroups for the Ohio Highway Patrol Post 10.
