It is and system sounds great as before. BTW is 8010 J Ops 2 or Jail Ops 2.

Couldn't understand her the other night and while it sounded like J I'm not sure what that would be.

If you can comment of course. 8052 popped up new yesterday as well. 8051 has been there but was in use yesterday but encrypted.

Thanks for the info Dave.

One clarification on WLU. Is it 8051 or 8052 that is them? Or are both TGs them?

Does that mean they are getting rid of or stopping their use of their DMR system?

Thanks again

They actually have 4, sequentially from 8051. They will be using all of them but most of them are encrypted. Yes they are moving away from their Mototrbo system. Not sure if their maintenance will use it or if they’ll get rid of it.

You are right 9013 is analogous to Med 10 and is hosp/medic comms for Pt reports with Stonewall ER.
I would think they'd have more than one med channel but so far I haven't seen it and next TG in order is something else.

8016 is what I believe they call an Announce and/or All Call group for LE.

In the past its been used for APBs which show up on all the LE dispatch TGs. VMI, BV, Lex and SO at the same time while put out on 8016.

But lately they've just been patching those groups together and putting out broadcasts without using 8016 so I'm not sure what's going on with it.

The announce and patches are just done by the dispatchers. However they choose to send the info. There is not more than one med channel.

WLU has went active primarily on 8051 with a bit of traffic on 8052 so far. 99% encrypted. Its apparently selectable as the non encrypted transmissions would be open then suddenly switch to encrypted as if dispatch told them to.

They are 26** series units. 2613 for example. That means 21,22,23,24 and 26 so far. Wonder what 25 units will be. RIDs are 70000 series such as 7000025 which is dispatch. RIDs seem to match unit numbers with what little I've heard. Ex: 7000006 is unit 2606.

The only TG not encrypted is 8052. If there was unencrypted talk on 8052 it was a mis-program. There UIDs are in fact 700001-25.

All traffic on 8052 that I have seen so far has been fully encrypted.
Almost all on 8051 has been as well.

There have been a couple transmissions in the clear on 8051. 2606 to dispatch then dispatch replying encrypted and afterward 2606 was entirely encrypted.

Hence I figured dispatch said something about them being in the clear and they quickly fixed the issue. That was how I got some unit numbers.

You may be right. I can’t remember off hand if it was 8052 or 8053 that was encrypted. One of those 2 are not.

Going to order another scanner for a relative to program for them soon - aside from my BCD996P2 that is rather expensive - over $350
are there any other cheaper alternatives that will still pick up everything in Rockbridge that I could get them?

Thanks.

Before I retired, I did the Centralize Fleetmapping for all new Harris P25 systems being installed (2009 to 2012), and if the customer paid for it, I also wrote all of their personality files to get them going.

Customer's often get carried away with trunked talkgroups, often to the total confusion of the First Responder.

I still have a copy of a presentation I used when meeting with customers if anyone wants it. ~300k PDF file zipped.
Anyone on the forum can PM me with your e-mail address if you want a copy. It is an interesting read for anyone not familiar with Fleetmapping a P25 system.

Can I get a copy of that fleetmapping?

Just a note I see someone submitted talk group 8102 as Sheriff Joint Ops 3 and encrypted.

Unless that happened in the last couple of days that talk group is Fire Dept Glasgow 1 and is definitely not encrypted. It often has medical choppers communicating with Glasgow when called. This talk group was found by hearing units telling another to go to Glasgow 1 and then traffic appearing between those units on that talk group. Also seeing patches between Glasgow 1 and other fire talk groups with dispatch saying Glasgow 1 is now patched etc.

I have Joint Ops 1, 2 and 3 being talk groups 8009, 8010 and 8011. I do remember Lexmedic said 8010 was Joint Ops 2 but can't remember where I got the other two from and can't remember if he commented on them.

8102 is definitely a Fire Dept talk group though, at least until the last couple of days if its changed. I also have 8104 marked down as "Swift Water Rescue" as it popped up during dispatches as that.
