Hi All,

I am not sure if this is the right place for my question, if not please move. I have noticed lately that while listening to Rockdale County Georgia, I can hear all the traffic except when the Deputies respond. I can hear Fire and EMS with no problem, and I can hear Dispatch, but I am not hearing any return traffic from Sherrif Deputies. Has anyone else noticed this? I am thinking they either encrypted them or they are responding using another method.

Thanks,

Are they using select encryption, if so, this would explain why you hear console audio but not subscriber radios. Maybe they are rolling out encryption. This is how I have done it with an agency on our system. Set subscribers to select and then the console/VPMs were last to strap.

Perhaps sheriff dispatch is now partially-encrypted, although the database does not reflect this? If you or someone else can confirm this then it'd be wise to submit an update to get the mode changed to "De"

Agreed. I did check the database and it doesn't show partial encryption or full encryption. I ask here to see if anyone else in the area is seeing the same issues.

Update: I have a neighbor up the street from me, his son-in-law works for the county. I ask him if he could ask his son-in-law about it and let me know what he finds out. I will update here and also submit it to the database once verified.
Thanks All,

Just listened for a few minutes from my east-facing weekday perch at 350 feet AGL in midtown Atlanta. Mobiles are now encrypted.

Yes, I just heard from the neighbor's son-in-law and he confirms that the mobiles are now encrypted. Thanks all for the info..

When the consoles are finished, you can expect Dispatch to become Enc as well.
