No, its listed as a Pro Voice Exclusive. From what I gather, today's scanners won't pick that type of system up.

About a month ago I programmed the available frequencies as conventional (instead of as a TRS). Even though I am 70 miles away, I clearly got a signal (1-2 bars) on my BC 996 But none of was readable. Sounded like white noise over the transmissions. Nothing was intelligible. I had put the 2 groups of freqs on quick keys for that county and usually leave them turned off.

OK, I got it. It is a type of EDACS where OpenSky is a whole different type of trunking system.

Same result however, non-standard and non-monitorable.

Thanks

Steve's correct. While it's listed as P25, it's still Provoice. I'm here in Rockingham and haven't been able to decode anything. I've tried the freq's as conventional and set up 2 trunked systems... EDACS and P25- nothing. The only exception is on the fire & rescue dispatch TG, I copied it in the on one of the systems frequencies (conventional scanlist) and it was analog. I spoke to the ECC director a while back and he told me everything would be digital including that talkgroup.

I don't have the order of the system frequencies... but apparently that would not matter anyway, since it is Pro-voice.

I also put a ticket in with GRE (I have a PSR-500) and asked about the Pro-voice P25. He said that since that one TG was analog at the time, it was definitely Pro-voice. I contacted Uniden as well... never heard anything back.

A "funny" thing came out in Harrisonburg's Daily News Record about the system. A sales manager with MA/Com stated that there was nothing preventing scanner manufacturers from developing a Pro-voice scanner. It was a supply and demand thing. GRE said that was not their understanding (he was going to forward to their management), and of course Uniden didn't respond.

The other "sad" thing for scanner listeners is I have an outstanding signal on the control channel throughout the City & County.
