Hello..

Putting together my 2009 Snow Plow monitoring list and I am looking for the county road department frequencies and tones for Rockland and Westchester counties.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

I can't answer for Rockland but there is no "County Road" department to speak of in Westchester. A lot of main roads are maintained by the state and of course local roads would be maintained by the town or village.

As for the State DOT, the frequencies are in the Database and I have heard activity on them but it is very very limited. Hardly anything at all on these frequencies, but you do occasionally hear something.

As for specific towns and villages, if you are really interested is to first check the database here. Failing that, check the FCC database.

As far as Westchester County Parkways such as the Saw Mill River, Bronx River, Hutchison River & Cross County Parkways WCDOT shares 151.385 with WCDOC. The lowband NYS DOT frequencies are somthing to program in but you would rarly hear anything exciting on them. Alos plug in the NYS Thruway UHF frequency.

It is the DPW (Department of Public Works) not DOT (Department of Transportation) that is responsible for Snow/Ice. I am pretty sure they only take care of BRP and Grasslands as far as Snow/Ice, but I could be wrong.
