Years ago you could hear the east side of the park here in metro denver on vhf then they moved to the state dtrs system and now encrypted.

VHF is still in use. Hearing them full signal on 171.750 mixed conventional analog 110.9 PL and P25 NAC 455 (Primary mode) in Weld county.

The VHF frequency in my posting above yours is the only one.

Some earlier posts in this sub mention something about some communications on DTRS that are ENC.

Still there is relevant information on the VHF frequencies they use.

All of their VHF repeaters are still in use- SAR, Rangers, busses entrance stations, and everything in between uses them. As far as DTRS LE uses the DTRS, and LE only I believe. Fully enc. LE rangers do run encrypted on the VHF system when working traffic stops, or other law-enforcement activities. They are in the clear when talking to other non-law enforcement entities
