It would make sense. The Verdigris site would cover the south end and the new system would cover the rest of the county. We will just have to wait and see.

They could be building the tower sites. Locations provided under WREC498 Rogers County YE service FCC license. Drive out to those locations to see if any towers are built. A little early in the game. Only 4 fixed locations. Here in Oklahoma City there are 13 P25 tower sites 12 built and 1 remaining. Taking quite a while for completion because residents nearby and KAMO Power objected to a 250 foot tower (including antennas). Oklahoma City approved the special permit anyway. Needed a special permit because it is in a agricultural zone where 200 foot with antennas is max allowed, normally, under ordinance. The build process has taken 2 years so far.

When the towers are built and CC is on it'll go into a lengthy testing phase as they set up the system.

We have been sitting on the "new" Harris radios since before Jan 2017. They spent nearly a year trying to talk owners of pre existing towers sites on the north side of the county into letting them use tower space. But that didn't go anywhere, then they spent 6+ months trying to find a location that would work so we can build a new tower site. As of July they were waiting for the BIA to come out and make sure the site is not a sacred burial ground or something like that. However they said if we are lucky we MIGHT have the new system up and running two years from now. But they also told us in May of 2017 we would have everything up and running by October 2018 so we shall see. Until then all the radios remain locked away in some dept storage room while we continue to pay on equipment we can't even use. This has been a frustrating process because our current radio system just doesn't work for us, but that isn't so much the fault of the equipment as it is the lack of cooperation of county officials to build a tower to the height specified by whoever it was we hired to come tell us what kind of tower and how high it would need to be to work for us. At least from what we have been told from multiple high up sources.
