Tomfoolery such as this will only promote the proliferation of encrypted transmissions of systems that for all intents and purposes should be in the clear. I'm afraid our hobby is on it's deathbed.

Nobody likes a rogue radio but a rouge radio is even worse.

Impersonating a medical professional

The person who used a radio to delay medical assistance may be guilty of serious crimes, in addition to FCC sanctions. The radio listening hobby is based on the " Do not interfere and do not get involved" requirements. Police, fire, and other first responders have a difficult responsibility without the addition of sightseers and others who may wish to cause harm. Listen at home or away from the actual events unless you are trained and authorized to do more.

I wonder the 911 dispatchers responsibility in this: ambulance: en-route- check; ambulance: on-scene-?; ambulance en-route to hospital- ? Why did it take the patient calling back 1 hour later for the 911 center to realize that the patient's needs were not being met????
