Romeoville PD has been dispatching off of Will County on TG20003 for a week, have they abandon Starcom ??...

Good question Ron. I wish I had the answer.
I recently heard that mokena Police and Frankfort Police are leaving laraway communications P25 phase 2 system and going to.the system that Orland Park is on. Think that is wescom? Any truth to that ?? Heard a dispatcher say that they were going to make the move because of the unreliability of the P25 system
Romeoville PD is back on Will County (P25) system. They are now the only department on "North Patrol" TG 20003

Since Lewis U is on Will now, I believe they can go direct with Romeoville PD. Nice if it hits the fan.
All new systems have issues . I guess most folks don't remember the "early" years of StarCom. ( poor portable coverage etc )

Lewis U had graduation today , some of there Will Co EFJ radios are really awful....There LTR system actually sounds better...It seems the security is on WC-TG141, and the maintainance is using the LTR system.....
Is it possible they're patching systems? Are Radio ID's showing up on the P25 system?
YES on the ID's, also heard TG142,143 for LU, security....Some radios sound fine a couple sound like the guys talking with his nose pinched...lol
When they patch systems you describe it perfectly. Some radios may be the P25, others on the LTR or another system. They might just have to switch the Zone on the radio if they have the capabilities and it will probably sound better. Metra PD has the same audio issues, not all the radios are on Starcom.
I notice lately the towns using Will Co P25 system in Lincolnway and Romeoville are using the term "LCC" which i believe would be Lincolnway Communications Central.....?....Looks like Romeoville is there to stay....

As of 10:15 Sunday morning Romeo PD is back on Starcom. Go figure.

Even though they sound better now on the County system then in the past, I still think Wescom is better. Just my opinion.

Laraway Communications Center-LCC that's how they answer the phone when I call in looking for a Will County Unit .

Romeoville Pd back on starcom today
Has anyone asked any Romeoville PD folks why this happens? Is it possible they're patching both systems and at times they're disabling the patch? Do the radio ID's match both systems? That's a lot of user confidence they will be on the correct radio zone (if radios are capable of operating on both systems).
There is no patch i see , and the TG's are different, Starcom=1951, Will County=20003....I have monitored both at the same time.....
