Looking for some tips and pointers on using a vent pipe to mount an antennacraft ST2 antenna. I was planning on using these clamps EZ 70 Vent Pipe Mount but not sure what kinda mast to use can i just use a piece of standard length conduit for my mast and how high is perfect for a vent pipe mount?

The thing about an ST-2 (and any dipole, or any antenna not mounted at the top of the mast) is that it needs to be horizontally offset from the mast to prevent interference between the mast and the bottom half of the ST-2. I have mine mounted 5 feet away from my mast and it works great. Even if the mast is non-metallic, the feedline will interact if it gets vertical too close to the antenna.
