I have a PRO96 and am a newbie. I loaded the ARMER freq. for Anoka county, Minnesota and I am mostly getting cab driver conversations. I thought the ARMER system was for police, fire, etc. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.

There aren't any taxi services that use ARMER, you are probably hearing transit, Metro Mobility, etc. What are the talkgroup ID numbers?

Did you also program the talkgroups for Anoka County? If you have the talkgroups programmed you will only hear those talkgroups if you are in scan mode. Sounds like you are probably in search mode so you are hearing all talkgroups that are in use.

THanks for your quick response

I went to the database, highlighted MN, highlighted Anoka County, scrolled down entered frequencies that had police, fire etc., then scrolled down and highlighted ARMER. I then entered all the frequencies (14) for Anoka County. I have the scanner set to scan all the frequencies I entered. I am not sure what the talkgroup ID is that you referred to.

You only need to load the control frequencies (red and Blue). Set the bank to open and you will hear everything on that site.
I would suggest getting the software, I use Win96.
You then scroll down the Armer database to Anoka county and find the trunk groups you want. After you input the trunck groups you want you change the bank to closed then you will hear only what you want.
I can send you my Win96 file to get you started if you wish or check the thread in this forum. May be a file already.

I apologize for my lack of knowledge with scanners.

I have WIN96 and I loaded only the red & blue frequencies found in the ARMER database under Anoka County in Bank 0. It took up four spots(851.93750a, 852.38750a, 852.88750a, 853.38750c). All I am getting is static. Could you send me your WIN96 file so I can see how it looks? Thanks very much.
