Interesting update in regards to the Rose Parade, it appears they will not be operating on LA-RICS and will instead be using conventional LASD radio frequencies and some ICI system talk groups. As for their operations, the 8ch Cap+ Mototrbo system they were using last year is not being used this year so I was wondering if they changed contractors or if the Mototrbo system is using a different color code (maybe someone can scan and figure this out during the parade as I won't know until after the parade). Happy scanning and I will post updates here if I get any more.

From what I gather LASD will making use of C-Tac, all the Mutual Aid and a couple of the S-Tacs for the parade. In addition, Pasadena PD old analog frequency will also see use.

Guess no deployment of the LA-RICS Site On Wheels this year.

Yes indeed I can confirm that.
Have noted CAP+ system activity this week on 461.200 CC2, 461.225 CC12 461.325 CC13 and 464.025 CC3 with about 4-5 TGs active mostly related to floats being built and bands practicing. Other licensed frequencies possibly might come alive if the system gets busier.

Can you ID any talkgroups? The only one I have heard with definite ToR traffic is TG 10.

From my notes TG 10, 14 and 49 were active. 49 by far busiest.

Last time B-2's out here on East Coast recently doing training their A/A freq was 341.750.
Also have 278.925 as A/A.
Always have a spare B-2 with them for flyovers and always paired up anyway.
They got great radios that really punch thru L+C.
They like to use UHF freqs for ATC over 20k feet as well but can use VHF when needed.May use a parade ground VHF controller for timing etc.
You might want to check area airport approach freqs on UHF on Airnav.com

FAA has low level TFR flight restrictions set up for Parade.
8/3311 NOTAM Details
If you click on sectional map you see SOCAL appch freq 349.00 from East and from the North freq 317.500
Look like good spots for holding into Parade route though not familiar myself with geography out there.
I would add those freqs to monitor.

It appears that LASD is using Mutual Aid 1 through 5 and C-Tac. Pasadena Fire is on the Verdugo Red channels. All as listed in the RR database.

Regular law ops are on the LASD channels mentioned above. All the good stuff is either on ICI or Conventional digital and encrypted.

From what I gather the parade line up is:

C-Tac-1 - Command
M/A 1 -
M/A 2 - Red Zone
M/A 3 - Green Zone
M/A 4 - Brown Zone
M/A 5 - Gold Zone
Pasadena PD 4 - Blue Zone
S-TAC-3 - Response Teams
S-TAC-19 - Misc/motor pool etc.

Plus also support from CHP

Just tried to check it out on Broadcastify, it says ONLINE on the main screen but when I try to open a media player/html page it says OFFLINE. Can't start it up

Sorry about that. For some reason ProScan stopped connecting to the Broadcastify server. I restarted the computer so hopefully it will hang in there for a while.

My contacts tell me Red Cross 453.7625 114DPL being used for Med Channel.

Also CHP using their new 700Mhz system base channel - 774.30625 NAC 7E6

That makes sense, Red Cross installed a permanent UHF repeater for the TofR a few years ago.

Didn’t think of the CHP 700 repeater, need to make a note of that for next year.
