I'm so used to listening to Sac Sheriff but recently plugged Roseville into my Motorola "scanner"

10-31 = Vehicle Stop
11-14 = suspictious (person, vehicle, ect ect)
11-85 = tow
10-28 = run property (serial #, license plate, ect)
10-29 = run for warrants

HBD = Has Been Drinking

thats a few codes that you will hear most frequently. I'm working on getting a list of what their codes are.

the 11-85 and 10-28/29 are pretty much universal around here. If you hear those codes being used, it's most likely the purpose posted above. Other agencies use other codes, but I've never heard those codes used for anything else.

I'll start listening as well. I get spotty reception, so don't listen too often. They've been in all the scanners the whole time, though.

I get roseville pretty well, however I listen to them on a Motorola MTX8000 (xmit disabled) so its probably a little more sensitive. Would you happen to have all of the Rocklin frequencies? there is only 1 on here, I have 3 programmed into another radio but I heard an officer tell another to switch to ch3 yet I never heard anything.

Nah...I don't know it. The last big "please submit frequencies" thread didn't really get any submitted. I'd listen to the CLEMARS just in case they use that as a Tac (which happens around here).

Here's what they have licensed under the same callsign as the dispatch channel:

154.6500
155.5650
155.6250
156.0300
158.7450
159.0300

159.030 is the input for the Wolf Mtn CLERS (aka LAWNET) repeater. Output is 155.070.

Mostly dispatch center to dispatch center comms, locals to locals and locals to CHP Sacto. State OES also is on the channel, and it ties into the state microwave system, every now and then you can hear OES do a test patch from Sacto down to SoCal.

I think OES also does a weekly EAS broadcast on Tuesdays at 10 or 10:30am.

what I'm wondering is what the "HOTLINE" is, someone I know in the sac county comm center said its a radio channel yet other people say its a telephone network to local agencies. Anyone have an idea what this is?

I'll ask them the next time I'm in 711 G St. Either that or I'll try to give them a call when it's not busy.

I know what it's function is, but I don't know exactly how it operates.

Off the subject, but how did you disable your TX on the MTX8000? I don't see it in the RSS.

In Contra Costa Co....we have a N.A.W.A.S. phone. It's not a radio, it sounds more like a micowave link between all county comm centers in the state as well as the National weather service and state oes. they do a roll call of all the counties two times a day i think. this is possibly what your talking about. I forget what nawas stands for.

Our original radio guy built the codeplug back in 1999 or somewhere about that time, it would scan SSD with the ABC switch in the C position yet if you transmitted it would default to our Moto Type 1 system (until nextel bought the system). After that I simply left it alone as a scanner, if you hit xmit it would default to the now gone business system. last year I built a new codeplug which is a B7 codeplug, I changed the ABC switch to Zone select, Zone A is Sac Sheriff (ch1-16), Zone B is Sac PD (ch1-16), Zone C has the talkgroups for Roseville PD, Folsom PD and Grant PD, I alpha tagged the channels for when I eventually get a top display for the radio (its a B3 MTX8000), one thing I did was make sure the connect tones were different, supposedly it does not affiliate with the systems someone else set it for that because I didnt understand what he was talking about over the phone, but the end product is it DOES NOT xmit on any of the systems, first I physically removed the membrane from the xmit button, and if you connect a speakermic to it and hit xmit i just gives you a steady ERRRRRRRRR sound. I did all I could think of to make sure it does not xmit, due to low funds it was the most cost effective way since I only paid $50 for the radio. I am now currently looking into getting a Pro-95 since the price is lower now, and the instant tweak factor is a nice bonus (not having to drive 35 mins to use a RIB and cable, lol)
