Yes, that's where the above link goes.

Do you have a Phase II scanner?

I have a 486 HP. I also show no 700mHz on any of the downloadable databases for Roswell. I'm using Sentinel.

Search 769-775 MHz in 6.25 kHz steps and see if you find any control channels. Then compare that with what is or isn't in the database.

There aren't any talkgroups for the 700 mhz statewide system that are specific to Roswell in the database. Therefore, my suggestion is to update your scanner with the latest from the database so that you will have the tower information, but program it with "ID Search" to see if you can find new Roswell talkgroups by listening.

OK here is the information a couple of us in Roswell have been able to acquire. Yes Roswell PD and FD have changed frequencies. The person at the PD we talked to did not know what frequencies and the Sargent we were referred to phone went to voicemail.
I have been scanning the frequencies to include the 700 MHz and have still heard nothing! We still have a couple local contacts we are trying to talk to and see what they can tell us.
I'll keep the forum informed as to what I find out.

The frequencies are already in the RR Database from the link I posted yesterday. Half the work is already done.

You need search & find their talkgroups.

For many this will be a challenge since most people used conventional. Trunking section has many options most are not familiar with yet.

I'm not 100% sure of your searching method, but do keep in mind that with a 436, it will not stop on an encrypted transmission during a scan. Mentioning that in case they have gone digital and encrypted.

But are you scanning for talkgroups as I suggested earlier, and what Ravenfalls just said?

OK here is the deal. They did change frequencies but NOT to 700MHz. They stayed with VHF P 25. The frequencies listed in the database do NOT cover all the new frequencies. If I can get ahold of the Database Administrator I'll give him the new frequencies to up-date the database.
Thanks Everyone!!

Anyone else find it odd the state invested in two sites for the area and Roswell didn't utilize the state system? Wonder how much it cost them to build their own P25 system?

Did some research. This new radio system started in 2016. Price for state system was $5.3 million. Kenwood VHF P25 $4.71M. The state was going to cover $1M of the project to joint the state system. Joining the state system would have cost $4.3M. Do you think they went with the cheaper and better option. Of course not. To add insult to injury, the contractor who was chosen to install the VHF P25 system didn't do a goo job. They had to hire a new competent contractor in late 2019 to complete the project. Completing the project cost another $1M.

I hope other agencies around the state learn from this debacle and join the state system.

Here is Chavez County:

It is spelled Chaves County. They get mad when you add the Z. LOL

Yes, the city and county did go with a P25 Simulcast System and Multicast system for the far parts of the county. This system has been in the works long before the state had a state 700 system. In fact the first 2 700 state sites were built in Roswell as a Demo for the city and county to try. Because the State system was not even built they did not want to be the first to join. So they built there own. Fast forward 4 years later and well it is finally built. And so is the state system. Would it have made more since to join the state system? Yes. Would they have saved money by joining? No. They would have still needed to buy new radios, consoles, and then pay a radio fee to the state. They have started switching over to the new system which is made up of several new frequencies and a reuse of old frequencies. RPD will be moving to strapped AES Encryption very soon.
