Routt County on DTRS

Agencies seemed to be primarily on DTRS (paging calls etc) this weekend when I was monitoring Walton Peak and I did not hear the old simucast on 154.370 and 155.37 any longer. But we still have lots of work to do identifying the actual TG's.

Remember Maybell is in Moffatt County not Routt and you can find those requested agencies and TG's in the database.

Moffat County Frequency

I knew that, I think it was a blonde moment. However we took our RadioShack PRO-95 and all we could get was school bus drivers and half of the Craig dispatch conversation (no responses). I wonder if I have got an expensive boat anchor and was trapped by the rebanding?

Could you advise can I update my scanner or do I need to buy another one? I am very new at this as if you couldn't tell.

It sounds to me like you were listening to VHF. The school buses are on 155.88 and the remote base at Juniper Mtn repeats it on 453.75. Dispatch was probably on 155.58. The Pro-95 doesn't do digital does it? It might be time to replace the radio that came out in 2002. Maybell and north is covered well by Juniper, Lookout and Cedar. South of Maybell closer to Meeker you'll want to have the Wilson Creek site programmed.

Yes Betsy, Moffatt County is on the states DTRS system and your Pro-95 does not handle that.

Tahnks guys. I guess that means the my Pro-95 can not be udated? If that is so what do you guys recommend for a hand held? I will need one in the next 3 weeks because we are going back up 2nd week in Dec. I will have to learn how to program and operate new one it will also have to have a 12 volt charger so I can run it in the truck. The Pro-95 worked well when it worked I was very pleased with it.

Get a Pro-106 or 396xt. They will run you around $500, but are definitely worth the investment. If youre a quick learner, it'll take you about 1-2 full days of studying and programming and playing with the radios until you get fluent enough to use it properly.

Thanks I am not a quick leaner so I will look into them very soon. I suppose the technology is equal to the price but not necessarily the ease of use.
