Hello,

I am looking at TAFL Search Results to get new frequencies after monitoring and my scanner let me know it was DMR.

Looking deeper, it looks like they have a MotoTRBO setup going on now.

I am having trouble deducing repeater pairs.

Traffic (that I logged)

RBG (CC 1)

Transmit Receive
461.2375 467.9875
461.6625 466.6625

Could anyone help me deduce the pairs, to out what is going on?

This is meant to be an education for me, I am not looking to just be handed the fish :)

Thanks!

Most of the time, just click on the record, under details and then click the callsign. This will provide the frequencies, frequency pairs for that call sign/tower. "Usually", in the 400 MHz range, the input and output are 5MHz apart. "Usually", the output will be the lower of the pairs. Sometimes the user/agency will mix it up, depending on their needs. You'll just have to listen to see which one is the output. At least, this should point you in the right direction.

Is there no activity on the 462.9875 frequency? On paper it looks like 3 pairs:

461.2375
461.6625
462.9875
with all 3 inputs 5 MHz above.

It looks like

461.2375 CC
461.6625

and

462.9875 is a "talk-around" for the overflow parking, using simplex DMR and Analog (131.8PL)

I am going to continue monitoring to see if I can catch talk-groups (now that I figured out how to do that with ARC-XT PRO).

It seems they also have some encrypted traffic as well.

Ok, I have a bunch of DMR traffic on a couple of those freqs that although I haven't verified who they are, the signal levels are vastly different so obviously multiple licensees, which the TAFL eludes to.

Is the RBC site CON+ or CAP+?

Just heard a Cap+ CC 4 TG 5102 key up for second on 461.2375.. Also as a FYI the Cap+ on 461.2375 CC 5 with TG's 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 106 & 220 is American Iron & Metal here in Hamilton which I verified in the past but never submitted until today.

They are definitely using DMR, the portables are all Motorola XPR6550's.
I wonder if it's all simplex. I cannot seem to locate a control channel.

That's what I'm thinking, I don't see any sign of a continuous carrier or the 'heartbeat' of CAP+. And I'd surmize it's DMR repeaters, so not simplex due to the 5 MHz offsets in the license data.

There is a tower with two folded dipoles on it. Most likely is a repeater on site. Their coverage area is fairly large.

Ok, so two repeater pairs and a single simplex channel.

Good work everyone!

Haha.... I'd agree that it's good work if I could hear anything. Otherwise it's purely guesswork on my part.

Every so often they talk early in the morning for grounds operations.

I hear security at night on 461.2375 CC4 quite often.

I am currently monitoring 461.2375 on DSD+ and I am getting traffic but its not reporting as a Cap+ but regular DMR.. I currently see TG's 5101 to 5104 that have been active today

Interesting. I haven't monitored in a while. Will have to track again. Lost interest.
