New Format

Database for Alabama shows an update done yesterday (3/1/09), but the agency/county, etc not highlighted to indicate which agency/county has been updated. Don't like having to scroll through agencies/counties to try to find specific agency/county/update. Need to find agency/county updated. Suggest a block be created for agencies/counties updated so users can go directly to the agency/county or else correct the current format to highlight current updates. Please send info on Alabama update/(s) for 3/1/09.

It seems there is more clicking involved. I click on Database and am confronted with Database Home, which requires another click to take me to the DB. It seems pointless offering two options for the same thing. Clicking on Forums offers more than one option, how about making them mouse overs that display the options, then we click, once.

In the DB, there are pull down menus, which require a click, then I scroll down, click my city, then click Retrive. Clicking on your selection should automaticaly Retrieve the info. Is Retrieve necessary ? Can it be removed ?

With a 17 in. monitor you must be running at least 1024 x 768. My 10 in. notebook runs at 1024 x 600. If I just stretch the browser window to the edges it cuts off a bit, but if I maximize the browser window it shows everything and the scroll bar dissappears. Maybe that will help you.

I noticed that one too. When I click on Ontario (which is green) the next thing is a bunch of drop downs so you don't see right away what was updated, you have to go through everything to see what was updated.

Thats why I love My RR home page. It shows all the counties and systems (I picked the counties and/or systems which I was interested in), and is updated right on your RR home page.

Did you do that David?, very nice thing to have,

Ron

Need to be a paid member for that feature.

Yes, I mentioned this because David is a paid member. Also keep in mind that we (Canada) do not have a secondary map like Florida for example.

They will see which county is updated by the map like this:
Florida Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

If we pick Ontario Canada it just brings us to the drop down menus which does not give us a snap shot of what was updated.

I believe RR was working on this.

I just noticed that the RR logo is not clickable.
It seems on most/many sites, clicking on the logo takes you to the home page.

Also, the home page asks you to register even if you are signed in.

..and there is a nice huge fat honking "Home" Button right below it.

I know.

Its just a habit that works on lots of sites.

I clicked three times before I my brain said "Hey, that ain't working" (Insert self-DUH" smiley here)

I have a couple of things there. I will have to spend the time to fill it with the stuff I want. It is a rather nice feature actually. I should use it to its full extent.

The link to download Trunked Radio Systems in Cuyahoga County does not work in ARC330 software. The page loads and you can pick the data you want to download, the download does not show up, to view before downloading. Is this arc problem or RadioReference problem.

Hopefully the Canadian provinces will be updated similar to this so each county/region can be clicked on when viewing the DB.
Weatheradio - Southern Ontario - Find a Transmitter & CLC Codes - [Meteorological Service of Canada - The Green Lane]

Lindsay's map source does not have Canadian maps down to the "county" (/regional municipality/municipal district/etc) level (or even the provincial level with county borderlines). That Southern Ontario one looks like it might be fairly close to matching each weather reporting region with each county, but most of the other provinces don't even come close, sadly.

I put in a trouble ticket asking for at least a list of the counties, as it was in 3.x, for those areas where county-level maps are not available. That way, we can still have the benefit of the green and yellow colors indicating updated material in our provinces/territories.
