I've been unable to hit the database since morning.

I can reach these forums just fine.

A traceroute stops at cloudfront.

I've been in and out of the database all morning, no issues at all on both the admin side and the public side.

I too have used it three or four times this morning without issue, and I just logged in without issue. Using Firefox on Win 10.

Try using a VPN to access the site to rule out an issue with your ISP.

If I hit the IP directly in a browser, I get this:

403 ERROR

The request could not be satisfied.

Bad request. We can't connect to the server for this app or website at this time. There might be too much traffic or a configuration error. Try again later, or contact the app or website owner.
If you provide content to customers through CloudFront, you can find steps to troubleshoot and help prevent this error by reviewing the CloudFront documentation.

Cloudfront and I have no trouble communicating. Once traffic tries to go past cloudfront, things break.

I can hit the forums, the wiki, and the support site. Can't log in to my account or the DB.

Sorry folks. This was my own doing.

Two years ago there was DNS failure - so I put the RR IP address(es) into my hosts file - and then forgot I'd done this. At least one of those addresses is no longer valid.

I wasted a whole morning figuring this one out.
