The wiki links at the state level are not working properly. For example when you select the wiki link on the Maryland page it just goes to the Wiki front page instead of going to the Maryland state wiki.

All fixed now.

I also resolved the site sort issues you brought up earlier in the thread.

So I think I got all the weird margins, header, overlap issues done for you.
Yep, looks fixed.

Where is the "Show inputs" on conventional? If its there, i cant seem to intuitively locate it.

EDIT: I had to go into my user settings and enable it as a default, but if i am not logged on, i see no way to display them.

Tacking

?inputs=1

...on to the URL on a county page causes the inputs to be displayed. Need to add the UI selector element...

Suggestion for the Trunked Radio Systems database; as it stands now, there is no way to identify what radios or applications can decode DMR, MOTOTRBO or NXDN trunks. For newcomers looking for information on how they can decode them are left without answers.

In addition system types like iDen might just say that it has no talkgroups and has no further explanation. Newcomers are left wondering why.

The wiki has been covering this issue for years; we have a specific set of templates that cover many of the different system types, and where there's something that can copy it, the article that describes it is identified. This is no different than what is being done with the Phase 2 systems in the current database structure.

I would suggest using that same space that holds the Phase2 message be used for doing the same thing for DMR, NXDN and MOTOTRBO trunks. In addition, modes like OpenSky and iDen could be identified as being uncopyable. Undoubtedly the time to do this is when the full database is loaded, The list of templates we have in the wiki that does this already can be easily had.

Could we also include bandplan information on SN/SZ and P25 TRSs? This is a huge help when properly programming a NAS radio.

In the balloon that pops up when you click on a marker on the FCC site map, the address is in white on gray background, making it very hard to read:

Took me 2.3 seconds (roughly) to figure out what to click on to get to state and local database info...meaning, not bad! I'm one of those people who likes updates and upgrades, new features and new looks so I'm not against changing at all. In my brief look, I didn't see anything glaring beyond what others have mentioned already (and some fixed already) but I'll dig around some more.

I assume that the deprecated TRSs will look like the samples of the real TRSs, but it would be nice to see a few of these in the sample too

I noticed that the Phase 2 warning for those TRSs is totally missing, which goes along with my post #48 above. For example, here is the beta for FiRST

and the current database

In addition, most of the states, and a few Canadian counties, have a general TRS listing in the wiki much like you have in the database. There IS a wiki link at the top, but it points to the wiki front page (which is really not very helpful). An example of the TRS wikis can be had here...

I'd suggest a proper wiki link, with the default going to the front page if it isn't found

That's so bloody tiny you would need Scott Lang to read it if it's there. I have the latest version of Chrome and I can't see that at all. No matter what I do I can't see that Ant Man sized message. And who would even know if it was there- it's so tiny it's very easy to miss.

Maybe put a tag on the mode name that pops a balloon or something like it that gives the warning message. If it's made to be bold and a different color than the background, it would easily stand out.

You don't have to read it. It simply shows that the Wiki link in the system's hamburger menu goes to its wiki. That's all.

What's nice about modern web browsers and responsive design is that the user is easily able to increase readability using a number of settings locally rather than having the site designed around catering to curmudgeons.

The comment you quoted had nothing to do with the individual entry (FiRST in this case) but the listing of Trunked systems which is right above that comment. I'm not sure how your response has anything to do with that, but whatever....Mike
