Today I noticed something odd in ProScan's RRDB Differences feature -- not sure if it's a bug or normal.

Recently the following TGID Alpha Tag has been renamed on the RRDB site (highlighted in GREEN):

Here is the URL link where you can find these changes in the RRDB for reference: San Diego-Imperial County RCS NextGen TG Category: San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E)

NEW VERSION
DEC HEX Mode Alpha TagDescriptionTag
135087DSDGE ASDAviation Services Department (ASD)Utilities

It's Alpha Tag used to be (highlighted in RED):

OLD VERSION
DEC HEX Mode Alpha TagDescriptionTag
135087DSDGE 135Aviation Services Department (ASD)Utilities

As you can see in the following screenshot, when I attempt to fetch the new changes, the RRDB Differences feature in ProScan won't spot it (I highlight the areas in question with a yellow rectangle with a red stroke [border] -- please keep in mind that the RRDB Differences feature did not highlight them in yellow). So it doesn't give us the option to either replace it or ignore it or at least let us know that there were some changes made.

@ProScan , so is this a bug or is this normal? If it's normal, I would like to request a wishlist that it should at least highlight it that the alpha tag changed so we can change it ourselves.

My only workaround was to either rename the Alpha Tag myself or re-import the TGID group (which I did) -- see screenshot below: (Note: the left side of the screen still shows the old tagged version, because I have not yet deleted the TGID group to import the new version from the right of the screen.)

It's not suppose to detect alpha tag changes. Just if TGIDs been addled or removed. See the manual on RRDB Differences and the "Algorithm using to match channels, and detecting duplicate channels" section

Maybe down the road, It will be some time before I can get to it as I'm working on a major item and have two more planned.
Can you send me an email so I can put it on the list.

Per the proscan.org web site:
If you have suggestions, send an email to support@proscan.org One suggestion per email. The advantage of email is that I can ask additional questions to make sure the suggestion is done right and send you the latest ProScan file with the suggestion implemented. Priority is given to suggestions received initially via email. Put "suggestion" or "request" in the Subject line.
