@blantonl Have you found out anything about the find me button and how it determines location that was mentioned here, RRDB v2.0 Q&A and Feedback Discussion

I was still on Long Island NY in Hauppauge (Suffolk County) and from my phone, I tried near me and it still takes me to Nassau County database. I was about 15 miles East of Nassau County.
It is whatever location your browser is returning. That’s all I have at this point

I beg to differ its the browser returning me in the next county and hope you can get it figured out because when I do searches from any of my 3 pc's, or from my Verizon wireless cell phone, they all populate with stuff in my area close to me. When I use websites sites to reveal my gps location, they all put me in my town in Suffolk County. This is the only website site that I have location issues with.

I googled "whats my gps location" and this is the results from just the first three. They all asked , thru my browser, to allow use of my location, and I allowed. They all put me about a mile from my actual home.

Again, this is not broken, this is expected behavior now. These features will only be available to premium subscribers. If you don't upgrade to a premium subscription, then you cannot use these features anymore. These advanced features are now for premium subscribers only.

Kind of a slap in the face to the [non-paying] members that supported your site and have submitted information for FREE (at our time/expense) only to be discarded as 'non-paying' [unappreciated] members.

And no, I won't be submitting any more data to RR for free. If you want my data, then you'll need to compensate me.

Do what you want but this is a pretty crappy way to run a site.

This is pretty much how most crowd-sourcing sites work - paying "premium" members get additional features. I'm pretty sure nothing changed with the premium member vs free member when comparing now to pre-2.0 (correct me if I'm wrong but this is what I understood). They only turned on the premium features for a limited time during testing, as he stated they were going to. So, if you've submitted in the past (pre-2.0) then it's no different than submitting now...

Do you even USE the database?

Yep, on a regular basis. My statement (in relation to your question, which you already knew that) still stands - as far as premium features goes, they allowed all users to have all features for a limited time during the intro to 2.0. He told us that that would be going away after a short introductory period.

To quote from POST #1 in this thread:
For now, at least for the next week or so, we'll make most functions that will normally be available only to premium subscribers to everyone as we gather feedback. Things like queries, filters etc will be then shortly available only to premium subscribers.

I hate to break it to you, but there have been "premium members only" features as part of the database for many years. Some of you are acting like this is a new thing with v2.0, which it is not. I believe two additional features were put behind the paywall with the rollout of v2.0.

Some of you are the same whiners who complained about the ads shown to non-premium members, which Lindsay removed. Have to make up for lost revenue somewhere!

I didn't ask for a new database. The old one worked fine. And I could sort/filter without issue. I think you're missing my point.

Uh... hate to break it to you but you're WRONG -- sir or m'am.

Nope.

Almost of the information in the RadioReference database is freely available to everyone in the world.

There are two small, advanced, data points in the database that are only available to premium subscribers that might have been submitted to us by users. Conventional repeater input frequencies, and Project 25 Channel ID tables. That’s it. 99.9% of users of the Radioreference database will never have a use case for these two data points, and those that do are either advanced users or are using the database for commercial related purposes. Period.

Time and expense?

What expense. We are all here because we love the hobby. My computer runs 24/7 whether I am on this site or not.

I'm not whining -- I'm complaining.

Have to make up for lost revenue somewhere!

Then make the site subscriber only. I'd bet this site would die faster than Dr. Fauci with COVID. Oh wait, okay, probably a bad example.

You just proved that you have no idea what you're talking about, yet you're complaining anyway while not in possession of the full set of facts. Amusing.

Less than 2 weeks ago I could see a full list of trunked TGIDs. Now I cannot.
Absolutely nothing has changed with regard to the ability of non-paying users to view every conventional listing and trunked talkgroup. Hell, you don't even have to be logged in to view all of that info. You're really undercutting whatever point you're trying to make by posting inaccurate statements.
