Does anyone know where I could find one of the black angle-mount brackets that come with the 197, 163, etc...? No luck so far with GRE or scannermaster...

You don't need one. Just go to your local hardware store and buy two angle brackets. Use a little Yankee ingenuity.

Well, I picked up another 197 on eBay... Looks in great condition for under $200... As pictured, though, all of the usual brackets and other stuff are missing. I'd be happy to take a bracket and the two screws off your hands for a few buks + shipping. Can you PM me if you think we could arrange this?

Hey NDRadionut, I'd be interested in a bracket and 2 screws for the Pro 197 also if it doesn't cost too much. I recently bought mine used but it didn't have any accessories with it. I made one but would really like the one that comes with the radio.

I was able to locate the bracket.

GRE is happy to sell it to you for $15, plus $2 for the screws, plus another $9 for shipping!

You have to call them to get it as it isn't available on their website. The rep I spoke with stated they were getting more and more requests for these brackets. He added that GRE was in the process of updating the website, and the bracket would probably be on there with the update.

Update and GRE screw up

FYI, I just paid $22.15 plus $11.50 shipping for a grand total of $33.65 from GRE for a Pro197 bracket only, plus they forgot to included the thumb screws I ordered.

Adding insult to injury on the forgotten thumb screws, it took over 4 weeks and three voice mails left by GRE to confirm my shipping address once again just to receive the bracket, no thumb screws.

BTW for you 197 fans, Motorola external speaker thumb screws work just fine.

I think I will definitely do Uniden next time....LMAO
