ok, try uninstalling what you have done so far from the system devices page, then reboot with CD in the computer & try it again... then after your reboot , plug cable in & make sure the comports are matching up .also try the updated driver dL here RadioShack.com
Good luck & try & be patient!.. it's apain sometimes for sure!!

win97

thanks everyone for all your help. I believe i have fig it out. I was using the com 3 instead of c4. Anyway, one more question. I used the "download to scanner" . I think that maybe I was not supposed to do this. Now all my freq are somewhere other than where they should be. can I get them back or start from scratch. Might be a good time to clean it up. Thanks again. Phil

……… I used the "download to scanner" …..

The choices are:
Download from Scanner
Upload to Scanner

The wording is from the viewpoint of the computer. So if you want to send data to the scanner you should choose “Upload to Scanner”.

If you Downloaded the data from the scanner to the software it should have created a new tab called "from scanner" which could be saved to a new file. If you chose the original file name you would have overwritten the original file, in which case you will have to start over.
