RS Antenna with Pro96

I am going to be using RG6 cable to connect to this antenna:

I have 50' of cable. I listen to stuff in the range of 140-170Mhz. Should this antenna on my roof work good for me. I am just worred because I took my handheld Watson antenna and threw it in the attic as a quick test and did not get much at all. It actaully worked better taped to a dresser upstairs in the house.

Should I be using different cable?
I may have to make a longer run depending on where I can mount it on the house.

I have 50-feet of RG-6 running to the same antenna. It works very well in that range for me, however my house is up pretty high. I also have a Scantenna mounted in the same area and using the same type/length of coax. The Scantenna does better on most frequencies than the RS 20-176 antenna, but the RS antenna is still a great antenna and very durable. I had the 20-176 in the attic which was a huge improvement over the stock antenna, and it performed even better when I put it on a 10-foot mast on the roof. Some attics may have roofing or insulation material that causes a loss in signal. You should see a noticeable improvement when you move it outside.
