RS dont carry parts anymore for Pro-96??????

Been a long time since Ive been here. Anyhow I recently purchased a used Pro-96 from craigslist for $50 with even the usb cable. Hella of a deal lol. But the 96 has very heavy wear so decided to call for parts # 12410809/12410791 (front and back case assy) and they said its no longer carried??? Wtf lol.

My question is to the guys here, any other place where I can get these two parts to make this 96 look new again??????

BTW.. The 96 other then looking old works excellent.

RSU Part number 12410791 for the CASE ASSY FRONT for a Pro-96 will cost you $28.49 plis shipping and is In Stock. This item can be ordered at any company owned Radio Shack.

RSU part number 12410809 for the CASE ASSY REAR for a Pro-96 is no longer available from RSU parts. As this radio has not been in production for some time, parts availablity will start to drop.

I didn't call any number. I went into the store computer looked up the parts list for the Pro-96. (Yep, I work for Radio Shack as a part time sales associate)

But did they confirm that it was in stock or just because you saw the parts in the list you assumed they are? I called and checked with both company own and frachise stores and all 3 said that those parts are no longer available.

I accessed the RSU Parts ordering system and it shows the part is in stock at this time. I was able to even place an order for this part. I can not vouch for what the other people looked at as to the parts availability

Every corporate RS has RSU.

I had a similar issue recently. The computer is showing in stock but they are indeed out. This is not only happening with RSU but with in-store items as well. Do not trust what their computers say.

btw... The Pro-96 and the Pro-2096 utilized the same parts and new parts have been unavailable since 2008, any replacement parts will have to come from another broken Pro-96.

The in-store computers showed zero in stock, the staff said some guy came in a couple weeks back and bought their entire supply. Cant go by what the website or RSU computers say.
