RS Pro 651

Good morning. I have looked thru the forum until I can't see strait and can't find an existing answer to my question. Now, the question. I have a Radio Shack Pro 651 for maybe 3 years now. I have recently moved to Licking County Ohio and I have downloaded the frequencies and talkgroups fpr the area, they have downloaded fine. The uhf freqs are coming in fine, I can't seem to pick up any of the MARCS frequencies. They are in the scanner,just receiving no radio traffic. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! KenB

Firstly, welcome to Radio Reference!

Looking at the Licking County talkgroups on the MARCS System here:

nothing is encrypted so that is not the issue. Let me ask, how did you program your scanner for the MARCS System to receive the Licking County talkgroups?

Logged into RR of course with the software, taken to the page where one selects state, county. Selected the agencies wanted, and the talkgroups, I chose all of Licking county talkgroups, and up loaded to the scanner.

Thanks for replying by the way. I appreciate it. Attaching a couple pics, the first is the software gateway that originally came with the scanner. The second is of the page where it leads to choose ones location(s) and agencies. Pardon the lack of savvy tech with the pics, I have a very old laptop. lol This was the easiest way to describe the screens.

That is Butel ARC500. The first shot looks like the menu on the disk from the Radio Shack programming cable.

Did you pick one or more sites on the left side of the import window? I see six listed for Licking county.

You have to send the programming file to a compressed (zipped) folder before you can attach it. That is all conventional frequencies. Do you have anything from the MARCS trunked system?

and for Licking County there are Control Channel frequencies such as:

You don't show any of these frequencies...

Sorry about the break in posting, schedules demand attention sometimes. Somehow, or another, I got it to work. I don't know that I done anything different than other attempts? I did "re-try" to download it again and surprised me totally but everything works as it should now. I get all dept's be it on their analog or marcs freqs. So I am going to leave it as is and be happy. lol.

My initial guess is that you did not assign the new TGs to a scan list, or you did not turn on the scan list they were assigned to.
