Rs pro 96 repair update

Well I sent radio in 4/15/09 after a lotta hassle with RS & some very good help from a fellow RR member, I ended up with like new repaired pro 96 ith a new case AND a LIKE new 96 that was a return( was in the box, with al accesroes & paperwork). so I now have 2 brand new l( like new pro 96's wooohoooo

AlabamaRS I have a rs 96 that was sent away for repaits to RS, some time back ,all the key pads were frozen, they called and ran test and there was no trouble found when I got it back and it worked for some time now recently its done the same thing, I think they said, eventually they might need tro replace the main board, for about 200.-- plus.... anyone you know of vever had this problem ?? PS which radio shack is for sale , cant make up my mind whether to sell it on line for parts or get another pro96 our some thing similiar, tnx

may be time to move up? I wil be getting the Pro 197 base when it goes on sale again

also this being a discontinued radio, They wil leventually even run out of spare parts also

Hate to ask the stupid question but did you lock the key pad? "FUNC - LAMP" toggles between "Key Locked" and "Key Unlocked". There is no display ICON to indicate the keypad is locked except by seeing "KEY Locked" and the bottom of the display while pushing any key.

kc5e1b yes i did that and many other, tricks i cud think about guess next thing ill hv to resolve doing is getting another scanner maybe a diff manufacture, one that copies milcom, and digital , lots of talk about peopl selling older mods and getting to buy the new one coming out now, Tnx for the interest Bob
