Hello All:

I have a Radio Shack Pro-97 that is missing a Battery cover, hard to believe that someone would steal it from me, but they did, Is there anyone who may have an extra one for sale, or some place that I can get one?..

Thanks
Brian

Radio Shack National Parts should be able to provide you with a replacement. Go to your nearest company owned store (a franchise store may not have the right screens) and ask the manager (the typical cell phone sales person may not understand you) to bring up the RSU screen and order it for you. The part number should be searchable on that system, but find it in this thread (http://forums.radioreference.com/radio-shack-scanners/58498-pro-97-battery-cover.html) and have them check that number as well.

Since the PRO-97 is no longer made, you may have trouble with RS finding the part.

However, the battery cover for the PRO-164 (which is still a current RS scanner) will fit your PRO-97.

If anyone is interested, GRE AMERICA has the RS parts, another Poster told me about them, sure enoiugh, they had the Battery cover, its been ordered, and on its way.. Thanks again for ya'lls help.

Sadly, Radio Shack was no help at all, they dont seem to have these parts anymore. Went to two stores this morning.. No Joy

Tried that number

Call up the national parts number as was suggested. That part number should be common for the Pro-97, 164 and 106. They all have the same case but they are just printed differently.

Go to this post for the part number:

http://forums.radioreference.com/radio-shack-scanners/58498-pro-97-battery-cover.html#post437745

The number should be 1-800-241-8742

I had that parts number you mentioned, went to two RS stores, they tried to pull it up on the RSU screen, that number is no longer in existance, they did pull up parts for those Radios, however, the battery cover lid wasnt one of them.
It turned out good tho, as GRE America had the part...

Thanks for your help
