I just got the RSP1a, but am disappointed to learn it doesn't work with SDR#. Ugh. I was just getting used to that program, and I like the way it works. What's the next closest thing?

What's wrong with SDRUno or SDR Console, both of which I'm told will work with the RSPs?

And who told you it couldn't be made to work with SDR#? Did you join up with some of the mailing lists that cover the RSPs?

You give up WAY too easy...Mike

I read that the last version it works with is 1361. I may try to find that one to download it, but it also lacks some features of the newer versions. The Uno software actually seems OK, but I've had it crash multiple times on me, and I just installed it today. It seems kinda flaky. I guess I can give SDR Console a try.

OK, I DL'd SDR Console, and it seems pretty nice. I tried it in the past, but couldn't figure out how to do basic stuff like set the mode (AM, FM, etc), but I'm getting a better handle on it now. No crashes so far!

If you are the one that also wrote in Reddit about this...
Then regarding RSPXX devices, AFAIK:
If you are interested in SDRTrunk, then you are out of luck. Hopefully Denny will add official support in the future.
If you are interested in DSDPlus Fastlane, then you are quite lucky. There is support via FMPP but it is limited and lacking PPM, AM, Scan, Squelch etc. Hopefully the developers will add support in the future.
If you are interested in Unitrunker, then you are out of luck.
Perhaps OP25 (Linux) will work? (I had no success).

So digital and trunking modes are limited.
But as mentioned above, you can see your spectrum with SDR Console and pipe your audio to DSDPlus for example, for simple digital decoding.
I would go with RTL-SDR or Airspy options for digital and trunk tracking.

I regard SDR Console to be superior to SDR# when used for shortwave listening, but for VHF/UHF the SDR# are easier and quicker to handle and there's no "hidden" settings that could throw you off as SDR Console more feature rich application can do that are more oriented towards short wave.

Watch some tutorial videos on SDRUno. I gave it a chance and learned what a great program it is. There are also plugins made for it. It may seem complicated, but that is due to the numerous features it offers. Learn the basics like frequency tuning and mode changes to get started. The rest will follow if you want to enjoy the dynamics of it.

I bought the RSP1A and have been using SDRUno almost exclusively without any issues. The software has all kinds of useful settings, not to mention it works excellent when hooked up to my Yaesu FTdx3000.

As Ubbe mentioned above, If all I want to do is surf HF then I'll open up SDR Console because it just seems to work better on those bands. I also noticed that for whatever reason it performs better on commercial FM radio broadcast.

So SDR Trunk is a no go with RSP? Well that sucks! I guess I will just use my NESDR for that.

Not sure why, but Uno consistently crashes on me. Running Win 10, 64-bit.

I do like SDR Console so far. I also tried SDR++, and that's nice, too. Pretty close to SDR#. Console seems a bit more polished, though.

It could be your Windows 10 causing the issue. I have Windows 8.1 64 bit and have never had Uno crash, not even once. There is a Linux Mint laptop I have somewhere that will be dedicated to the RSP1A/Yaesu combo in the next month or two when I get around to it, so I will see how well that works in the near future.

RSP1a with Windows 10 and windows 11. Not one problem....sometimes runs for days. If your pc crashes, there's more problems with your PC then you may think. To many apps background, not enough memory...? I would look into why it crashes. And it does work well in linux.

What hardware, CPU, RAM? Clean up your temp files, if you're running a hard drive, de-fragment it. Is your WIN10 updated and current? It runs rock solid on my system always.

Get rid of useless programs running in the background, or at least close them.

I run SDRUno on four machines running Windows 10 64 bit with zero issues. Perhaps uninstall, reboot and then re-install SDRUno. It even runs on some old 4GB RAM and slow processor desktop and a laptop. Well, it takes a minute to load and I avoid trying to look at 10 MHz of spectrum on those older machines. It also runs fine on a Windows 10 64 bit Microsoft Surface Go 2 tablet with 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD, even at the full 10 MHz spread.

I hope you find a program so that you can enjoy your SDR. I use mine several times a week.
