I have had my Nooelec dongle for about 3 years and lately I have noticed that it wasn't sending signals to SDRSharp. I check it against some of my other dongles to confirm that it was isolated to the Nooelec dongle.
With a little inspection, I could see that the ground pin on either side where the usb connector attaches to the circuit board were loose and not soldered. A quick little solder job to those pins and everything was back to normal.
I must add that this would be no reflection on the dongle, which has been pulled out of and put into the usb port a million times and it took three years to breakdown. Now the dongle is connected to the computer by a usb cable only and it will remain attached to the cable when not in the computer.
