I recently spoke with our San Mateo Communications manager, and he told me that by the end of 2018, all San Mateo County Fire departments will be moving to the counties UHF P-25 system.

Can anyone confirm this? Why would Fire departments move to a UHF P-25 system, when VHF is preferable inside a home or building?

Not necessarily and if they go by NFPA recommendations fire ground is supposed to be analog.

HS is puling everybody to move to p25 nobody listen radio people anymore
