Rumors Of Las Vegas Metro Police Going Unencrypted?

I’ve heard from a few people that the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department may be going unencrypted. I have heard mixed stories on this as everyone in Clark County is supposed to be going fully digitally encrypted. Has anyone heard anything about this?

I’ve always wanted to visit Sin City and take my scanner. Let’s hope they do unencrypted- at least their dispatch, traffic, and admin channels.

OPlive now has LVPD in their weekly show (Fridays and Saturdays) so could that explain it going unencrypted ?? hmmm

0.00% chance they will go unencrypted. Metro just upgraded their entire handheld Radio fleet to the APX NEXT all-band radios and is very proud that their entire system is encrypted.

Kinda like someone getting nice privacy blinds on thier windows and the neighbors want them taken down. Not gonna happen. Once its in place, it will not be removed.

If using the encryption status as a way to determine if you're going to visit a city or not, is any kind of a factor. I guess you won't be travelling much these days.

Caesars is the only one encrypted that I know of.
