I have a pi5 and I have successfully loaded the Broadcastify Pi Image v3.0 Beta. I have two of the Sabrent USB External Stereo Sound adapters. Eventually I will have two receivers fed into the left & right of one of the adapters (right channel being receiver A and left channel being receiver B), and a third receiver fed to both channels of the second adapter. I will be providing two feeds (one stereo, one monorail) to Broadcastify. Issues so far:

  1. On a test, the audio is distorted. I used the Bcfy shell to configure the feed. I don’t see a way to adjust gain for a channel. Do I just use Alsamixer?
  2. I am currently only providing one channel to the first adapter, but the audio is found on both the right and the left channel of the feed. I have not found where the default is set to a monoral feed.
  3. The total buffering between the PI5 and Broadcastify is over 60 seconds and sometimes more than 90 seconds. I see in the Darkice config the default buffering is 10 seconds. I can change that to 5, maybe. But getting the delay between when I make a change in the receiver until I hear it on the broadcastify feed to well under 60 seconds would be nice.
  4. When configuring my feeds via the Bcfy shell, I have the following sources available:
    • [1] PulseAudio Loopback 1
    • [2] PulseAudio Loopback 2
    • [3] Device [USB Audio Device]
    • [4] Device_1 [USB Audio Device]
I have only been able to configure [4] with a feed. Maybe [3] will not work until [4] is already configured and feeding???? Does anyone have experience with two feeds from one Raspberry Pi?

try turning your radio volume down also.

your darkice configuration files are in the bcfy/configuration folder on the pi. Here you will find channel settings for both input and output. For stereo Channel=2.

latency is what it is. You aren’t going to significantly affect it. If you really want low latency, look at setting up a Zello feed. Latency is in ms.
