I have a BCD436HP. I have two programs (Scanner Monitor and Scanner Screen) that each work individually with my scanner on a COM port using the Uniden driver. My question is can I somehow have two different Windows COM ports running at the same time so I can view both programs simultaneously? Each program is great but I'd like to view them simultaneously.

Here are screenshots of each program. Thanks, Bob.

While i have not used those programs the limitation will be with the scanner. IF you have 1 scanner you can not use two different programs to access it. They will cause conflicts so its either 1 or the other.
But that is just my best guess.

Thanks. That's what I thought but it was good to get the final answer. Bob.

The scanner can only connect to one Com port at a time.

The scanner has two comm. ports so this doesn't apply.

Thanks Bob. I appreciate the help. Is there a way to do it without ProScan. I cannot use ProScan as I use WIN Med. size fonts and the Virtual Display won't work. Regards, Bob.
Yes, any app with BCD436HP support will work.

Back on the font issue. I think that is something Microsoft has been struggling with for years. They got it right in Win 10. Increasing the font size on any program with lots controls (labels, textboxes, checkboxes, etc) but not increasing the program size, something has to give and that is the text will overlap or squeeze together like in the image you posted.

BobFam,
To get the top (GPS) port working, it takes a Uniden USB-1 cable. The port needs set up by going to the menu - Set Your Location - Set Up GPS - Set Serial Port. Change the baud rate to 115200 bps

Thanks Bob. Are you saying if I get a Uniden USB-1 cable I can connect it to the GPS port and run a second program on my scanner along with one of the two I posted in my original post?

If so I'll get one. Regards, Bob.

Yes, I tested it yesterday by removing the USB-1 cable connected to the BCT15 (front port) then reconnected it to the BCD436HP top (GPS) port. It worked flawlessly. Using Win 10.

The driver should work with Win 7 accordingly to this link.

I run two UBCT8s through USB to COM port adaptors into an old computer running win98 with two instances of ARC8 running. Also at the same time an Icom R7000 controller via the proper COM port - works well.

OK. Thanks Martin. Bob.
You're very welcome.
I have been looking for the USB-1 cable. ScannerMaster looks like it is out of them. I see a lot of them by using Google. Does anyone know of a good reliable source? I want to make sure I get the proper cable. I understand it needs a Prolific PL-2303 chipset with any letter version after the 2303 and all will work with WIN7 64 bit. Thanks, Bob.
