I remember Rural Metro being on AEP's EDACS system. Where are they now??? There not there anymore.

Correct Jwood they went 100% nexthell! More secure and is very HIPPA friendly

A lot of agencies read too much into that HIPAA stuff. The information that goes out across the radio waves is fair game. PERIOD! If you have 'patient critical' information that involves giving out a patient's name, SS number, etc..., I suggest you call via cell phone or via land line to the ER. All of the other basic information is fair game and has nothing at all to do with the HIPAA act.
