RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — The budget committee of the Pope County Quorum Court approved multiple appropriation requests Tuesday from the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) for consideration by the full court on Thursday, but one of the items generated some vocal opposition.

I think it is a wise decision to go with AWIN vs MTROBO.

MTROBO isolates agencies in my opinion, especially when other agencies in that area are either AWIN or VHF-High analog.

Look at Ouachita County. They installed MOTOTRBO then put their dispatch talkgroup on radioreference as an official feed a month later. The public can't help you catch those bandits if they can't hear ya.

I understand huge cities with lots of officers could go with digital des rolling encryption and such, but in the rural areas, you really do rely on the citizens.
